Ingredients
ginger ale
- 2 T ginger concentrate
- 1 T honey syrup
- sparkling water
- lemon
- ice
ginger concentrate
- 1 c. peeled and chopped ginger root
- 4 c. water
honey syrup
- 1/4 c. water
- 1/4 c. honey
Instructions
ginger ale
- to a 16 oz glass add the ginger concentrate and honey syrup.
- add ice. slowly fill glass with sparkling water, allowing bubbles to dissolve before filling completely.
- add a splash of lemon. adjust to taste.
- additions: lemon slice, lime. blueberries. strawberries.
ginger concentrate
- add water and ginger root to a pan over medium heat. simmer for 20-30 minutes, until water has reduced by about half.
- this leaves a concentrate with a strong ginger flavor. let cool, then strain though a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth.
- store in fridge. Use in Homemade Ginger Ale recipe.
honey syrup
- heat water. add honey. stir until honey is dissolved.
- allow to cool. store in fridge.
- use in drinks such as homemade ginger ale or coffee.
